All around the world you hear about dance!Mostly “how fun jazz is or how exciting hip hop”is but what people don't understand is the main 4 technical genres of dance.There is lyrical,contemporary,modern,and ballet.Lyrical is a mixture of ballet, jazz, and contemporary.It is all about the technique and how much you use your sad/happy emotions.You have to have strong emotions so you can show the audience or judges what the dance is about.That mostly depends on your song.Lyrical dance was made in the 16th century and still thriving today!Contemporary dance was invented in the 20th century.It is very expressive and is an ideology as much as a style.Contemporary is known to be free,you can really express yourself in contemporary and be weird.Modern was also developed in the 20th century.Modern and ballet are like fraternal twins.They are very similar but modern does not have as many rules.There are many different types of modern dance!Horton is a different type of modern dance.Modern is one of my favorite styles of dance!From my research in (kiddle) it states “The modern dance style does not have set rules” which is true but it is different for different types of modern dance.Now the most technical style of dance.Last but certainly not least is Ballet!Ballet is over 500 years old and still getting even better as the years go by.According to my research on (TurningPointSchoolofDance)”Originally,women were not allowed to dance in a famous ballet”.Although the rules of ballet are very very strict!”Never mark your arms!” “Apply every correction.” “Allow more advanced dancers in the first groups.” It might not make sense but that’s how you talk dance!
