My Pet Bird is Really a Girl!
Author Name:
Alyssa Scott

My mom (Denise) and my brother (Wayne) got the bird in 2018 when my dad and I were at a Father-Daughter Dance. Denise and Wayne were at home, so when my dad and I were gone they went to the pet store and got a white cockatiel who we thought was a boy. When my dad and I had gotten home to a pleasant surprise we were shocked. A few minutes later we decided to name her ,“Jay”. (we thought she was a boy at this time) A few years later in 2020 we had just finished eating dinner and checked on Jay and saw 2 eggs! We had decided to keep the name “Jay” but call her “Jay-Jay” now that we know she’s a girl. Fast forward to present day, Jay-jay has laid multiple eggs, but since we haven't gotten a bird for her to mate with, she is not able to get baby cockatiels. Jay-Jay is 3 years old in bird age and doing great!
