What do you wish to be when you grow up? I wish to be a pediatrician because I love helping children. Well I know one question people ask and it’s what level of schooling is necessary? Well to be a pediatrician you need to have a bachelor’s degree and medical degree also you must have at least nine years of schooling. Another thing people might ask is, are there any exams or tests to take and the answer is yes you must take the USMLE and board certification exams and take the MCAT. One other thing is are there any physical or personal requirements? The answer is physical stamina.
To be a pediatrician you have to have some skills like: communication, health care, ability to relate to children, and organization. Other than skills a lot of people ask for a salary now one question some people ask is what is the annual salary or hourly rate so for pediatrician’s it is $65.00 an hour. Also some people ask if the salary stays the same or does it increase annually and the answer is yes it falls between $91 and $125. Another question is does education make a difference and yes it does. Now it’s not just skills and salary they also ask what hours/days are required and the answer is eight-hour a day from Monday to Friday. Also they might ask if this career can be found in any city, yes it can in doctors offices there are pediatricians. There are 4 questions people might have about opportunities and advancement. One, what are the chances for advancement in this field? The answer is to advance to know the ledge base of pediatric medicine by going into research. Number two, would advancement require additional training? Pediatricians who want to pursue this specialty continue for at least three additional years of fellowship training in pediatric oncology. Number three would advancement require additional duties? The answer is no, but after working for several years you can move to a hospital. Last but not least number 4, is there a need for continuing education to hold this position? Board-certified pediatricians must complete continuing education to maintain their credentials. One last thing people want to know is the specific places of employment? Private practices, general hospital, military units, children's hospital, and health maintenance organizations [HMOS]. Those are some things to know before becoming a pediatrician.
A Typical day in the life as a pediatrician I would wake up turn off my alarm go to the bathroom brush my teeth then do my makeup, go to the closet pick out my clothes put them on got to work eat breakfast there, take care of patients then go on my break go to target, then eat lunch, go back to work do my job, go home take a shower get off my makeup put on my pj's, watch my show, turn on my alarm go to bed. That would be a typical day as a pediatrician.
