Foster care

I can relate to foster care and, happily, adopted. So can my little brother, who turned six exactly a week ago. And my older sister, who wasn't in a foster home for a couple days with me and my brother. My older brother kept living his life with my grandma. Since he is now an adult (19) he didn't need to be adopted or anything like that. Though the trauma will still be a part of my life, Sarah's, Aaron's, Aarice's and others life's as well. Plenty of other people go through this too. So many kids end up in group homes. No one is interested in adopting older children, and most teens grow up to end in gangs, homelessness, or prison. Or worse, dead. But thankfully not a lot end up like that! I am very proud of my good friend, Jakera, for making up her mind to adopt a teen child! I also have lots of friends and mentors that were in foster care. My friend Evelyn is still in the process. My friend, Justice, has asked her dad to adopt Evelyn. I feel so good that her dad said yes! I can't bear to watch someone I know go through that. But my friend Luna has already been adopted. Everyone is at a different stage in foster care. But on the bright side, anyone who has been in the Florida foster system gets to go to a Florida University for free! It's still horrifying what they go through to get that. But in the end, every foster kid I've met has had someone encouraging them from start to finish.
