Have you ever played soccer? Well, I have, and I love soccer. I even used to play it. If you don’t like soccer, that’s okay! We all have our own opinions, but I wouldn’t read this because I mean we are literally just going to talk about...
SOCCER! I mean, did you not read the title. Well, anyways, let’s kick into soccer. Did you know (fun facts): Creative students at the University of Oxford in the 1880s distinguished between the sports of “rugger” (rugby football) and “assoccer” (association football). The latter term was further shortened to “soccer” (sometimes spelled “socker”), and the name quickly spread beyond the campus (that’s how soccer got its name!). Soccer was made in England, and it is typically credited for inventing the modernized version of the sport beginning in 1863 with the founding of the Football Association, which differs from China's origin. Did you ever wonder how many countries play soccer? Soccer is the world's most popular sport, played by over 250 million people in more than 200 countries. It is particularly popular in Europe, Central and South America, and Africa. To date, it has a growing influence in North America and Asia. Well, I know, I know, this is lazy, and I barely wrote anything (literally), but I hope you learned a lot! Maybe I will even get you to play! (Lol!)
