School is one of the most important things in life. Without school, you wouldn’t have much knowledge. The
first “school” was during the Xia dynasty during 2076-1600 BC. Back then, schools used to teach about
aristocrats, rituals, literature, and archery. These subjects were important for ancient Chinese aristocrats.
Even though school was good for children, it didn’t become popular until the 16th and 18th
centuries. During the 16th and 18th centuries, people started to see school as a good place for their
children to learn about education. After school became more and more popular, more schools
started to form. After more schools started to be built, Catholic schools started to form. The first
Catholic school in America was made in 1727.
Later, schools taught about reading, writing, and mathematics. The Massachusetts Bay Colony
made essential education a need in 1642. In 1095 or 1905 Roberto Nevelis created
homework for children who didn’t understand the assignment. In California homework was banned
in 1901 for children under the age of 15, but was not repealed until 1929. One of the reasons
why homework is a thing is because if a student doesn’t understand the assignment,
then they could practice it at home. Homework also helps to with understanding
how to do your work.
Now in modern days, we have technology. Technology changed they way schools teach. Now
we teach more subjects, we learn with more technology, and we have uniforms. Schools
changed a lot. Schools will probably change a lot more in the future.
