On May 6th, 1889 the Paris Exposition opened with the just completed Eiffel Tower as its centerpiece. The Eiffel Tower is a 300 meter iron marvel of Gustave Eiffel.The Eiffel tower attracted 32 million people! That is a lot of people to see at the time!

On May 6th, 1937 the Hindenburg exploded at Lakehurst, NJ. Did you know that the Hindenburg was a german commercial passenger carrying rigid airship! There were 97 people on the Hindenburg at the time! 35 of those people died, that must have been a sad time for some families
