Hello! My name is Katriana, but you can call me Kat. My speech is about how one, bad decision can cause a person to die
I’m going to be telling you why you shouldn’t buy drugs off of the street. One of my family members died from buying some deadly drugs that would slowly start killing him.
It all started when my uncles back started having problems. He was in a lot of pain and the doctors couldn’t help him. So, he started to smoke cigarettes to get his mind off of his back pain. Then, he started smoking like 4-5 times a day and got so addicted to cigarettes that he couldn’t stop smoking them. Every time I went over there, I always saw him smoking cigarettes. So, I would go out side and tell him to stop; it could kill you.
I said it a lot and he did stop when I was over but he still couldn’t stop completely. He couldn’t come over, for my birthday when my grandma could, and I’d cry because I couldn’t see him. Then he had enough! He went on a walk and met a man that sold him some drugs telling him that it would “help his back problems.” My uncle thought the man was telling the truth. So he bought some and went home and took them and went back for more and kept going back and he got addicted.
Then, when he got so addicted, he had a drug overdose and died on the floor of his room. I was 9 years old and my dad came to pick me up early from school and I thought it was a special day but no that day he picked me up because his brother died. It was one of the saddest days of my life. I remember what my exact reaction was. I couldn’t stop crying. We went to my grandma’s house and stayed there for the whole weekend and spent time with my grandma and left on Sunday and I kept crying on our way home. When we finally got home, I went to my room to be alone. Then, we used this situation as something to learn from. This is why you shouldn’t buy drug off of the street, and, if I were you, I would use this situation and learn from it like my family did. You need to be aware that this is a true story and that this really happens.
Thank you for listening. I hope you learned that you shouldn’t buy drugs off of the street.
