Chill, big, expensive, and always pulling up. Capybaras are shorthaired brownish rodents with dull noses, tiny legs, webbed feet, and the smallest little tail. They are timid and live in groups along riverbanks. They normally eat in the morning and evening and usually rest during the day under cover along riverbanks and along the coast of lakes. Capybaras are considered some of the most docile and non-aggressive animals. They are also said to be exquisite pets because of their friendliness, they enjoy being pet, they cherish being cuddled by their owners, and are somewhat easy to care for when under the right conditions. They are the largest rodents, and they can grow up to 20-24 inches tall. The biggest capybara ever recorded weighed 201 pounds! They are native to South America mostly Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Peru, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, and Northeast Argentina. But there is a relatively small population of capybaras that is flourishing in North Central Florida! They are semiaquatic, which means that they live partly on land and partly on water and because they are semiaquatic that gives them the nickname “water pigs.” These water pigs can come in at a hefty price ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 dollars and the vet bills for capybaras can be $600 to $1000, they eat 6-10 pounds a day and their diet consists of grass, melons, grain, and squash. Due to these chunky hamsters need to be social and friendly they also need a friend because capybaras do best in pairs. Capybaras truly are some of the most chill, big, and expensive animals ever.
