Why We Should not Pollute Our Oceans

I’m sure you guys know that we should not pollute oceans, but I would like to bring this more to your attention. Let’s say one day you were at the beach having a great time with family and friends playing in the sand. You want to go in the water but then suddenly you see a pile of trash as big as our classroom in the water.

What do you think? Still want to go in the water? I don’t think so right? Well believe it or not this could happen here in our own Clearwater Beach, Florida. There are a lot of places already with tons of trash in their oceans. Do you know how much garbage the oceans have every year in their waters? More than 8 billion tons! That is more than the size of Texas. Can you imagine?

What’s in the ocean? There are fish, animals, and creatures. Some of these we consume them. Us. What do you think they eat? Well if there is plastic, cigarettes butts, and more in the water, the fish and other creatures that we consume have them in their stomach. We most likely will have it too.

This is a big issue for all of us and anyone on planet Earth. Continuing like this we will no longer have fish, creatures in the oceans, and the oceans will be the house of garbage. We need to change this, and this starts with all us.

Pick up trash at the beach if you see some. Don’t throw trash in streets, or oceans. Don’t use plastics if you can. We need to make a difference. We need to keep our oceans and planet Earth healthy to make it a better place to live in for us and younger ones.
