Cat Falls in a Pool!!!

There was a cat named Finny and she hates water. One day on Saturday February 11th 2023 at 9:30am at a pool, Finny started walking really close to the pool. She thought she was okay because of her not so smart brain. As she started walking, her back foot slipped in and Finny JUMPED and really tried not to fall in because she had experienced this once when she was younger and she remembered it was not so fun. When her foot slipped in the pool, she saw that there was a pool measure and tried grabbing onto that. She failed and ended up dragging it in with her. That was pretty sad. Since she is a super fat cat, she could have DIED! But because she was in such a panic she could actually swim! I was not watching nor was anyone else. Most healthy cats weigh around 10 pounds but it is also depending on the breed. Main Coons weigh about 13-18 pounds but that is the male cats. Singapuras weigh about 4-6 pounds. Finny weighs 16 pounds and she is not a Main Coon and she is a female. Females weigh 10 pounds usually. She looks fatter than what she is though I think, because she is in a panic but she made it alive out of the pool. She came in meowing all soaked and she survived and was okay!

How to help your cat

Pools are super dangerous and cats could drown. Luckily Finny was able to swim but that might not happen all the time. Some cats might not be able to. You might have a baby gate in your house to put up by your pool. It can be used for way more. Just putting the gate up can save your cat's life. Of course you want to save other animals too though. If your cat is still shocked then how you tell is if your cat is making a howl or yowl (sounds like a drowned out meow). Also if they have white cat gums and if they have rapid or faint heartbeat they are in shock. Also if your cat has a ton of fur when it gets wet it will weigh your pet down even adding to the weight of a cat. It is very important to make sure your pet stays away from your pool. If you have trained your cat to swim somehow then they might be fine but even if they know how you should still try to be safe. Also there is no hate on any animals that are not cats (I don’t want them falling in the pool either).
