Jackie Robinson was the first African-American to play major-league baseball. Jackie Robinson played third base for the Brooklynn Dodgers. Jackie Robinson’s number was 42. The first year, Jackie Robinson was given the award for Rookie of the Year and stole home plate. In 1949, Jackie was voted Notional League most valuable player. In 1955 the Dodgers won the World Series. Jackie Robinson’s number, 42, made it into the Hall of Fame and no one can ever use that number again. Jackie Robinson is one of the greatest baseball players of all time!
