Denver, Colorado, is a must have on your bucket list. I stayed at the Gaylord Rockies which is in Aurora, Colorado. Upon entering the resort, on a cold chilly day, there are heaters in the outside entrance that instantly warm you up. As you look around you are greeted with huge fireplaces inside, as well as lots of firepits outside. The resort itself is decorated like a ski lodge. With the warmth of the wood, to the bear artwork hanging on the walls, elk metal statues and a magical water feature on the lower level. The best feature of this resort was the beautiful Rocky Mountains in the backdrop. They offer an indoor heated pool with several water slides. Also, a heated outdoor pool and a lazy river complete the water activities. They have several restaurants to choose from Italian, to Mexican, Sushi and an incredible steakhouse that has the most incredible 7-layer chocolate cake with a chocolate mousse to top it off.
Downtown Colorado has so much to offer. From restaurants, to shopping and museums. We went to a museum called Meow Wolf, which I highly recommend. It is filled with approximately 30 rooms if not more. Each room told a different story and had secret rooms within them. Many artists came together to transform this empty space into an incredible story. One of the best parts of downtown Colorado was I had the honor to meet Carl Anthony Townes and have my picture taken with him. Those of you who do not know who he is, he plays forward for the Minnesota Timberwolves. They were in town to play the Denver Nuggets. Downtown has many forms of transportation from renting scooters, bikes, Ubers, buses, trollies, and the train. I tried a few but the best part was just being able to walk around and see everything that downtown had to offer.
