The Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter the draft and sign quarterback Baker Mayfield. Sadly, Tom Brady, the G.O.A.T. has officially retired. The Bucs also picked up a fifth-year option on the offensive tackle Tristan Wirf's contract which is worth well over 18.2 million. They are entering the NFL draft targeting offensive tackles and edge rushers, as well.
The more the better,
Bucs draft defensive tackle Calijah Kancey in the first round with the 19th overall pick from the Pittsburg Panthers. Fun fact, he ran the fastest 40-yard dash by a defensive tackle buccaneer since 2003. Great news, the Bucs picked up experienced starter Matt Feiler for their offensive line. And Ryan Neal “Couldn’t Pass” on an opportunity to play in Tampa.
Out of the playoffs, during the wildcard game, one of the most exquisite wide receivers for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, four-star captain, Mike Evans, was out with an illness and that is possibly why they lost the wildcard game. Another reason could be Buccaneer cornerback Carlton Davis was out with a shoulder injury letting the Cowboys score. Not the only one, either, cornerback Saun Murphy-Bunting is out with a shoulder injury as well as linebacker Carl Nassib with a pectoral injury. But Dak Prescott most likely outplayed Tom Brady with a score of 3-14. The Bucs aren’t looking too good with Baker Mayfield but are trying to level up to an unstoppable defense with a new addition of defensive back Josh Hayes. More defense news, linebacker Shaquil Barrett sadly lost his daughter after she drowned in a pool and recently posted that he misses her. Quarterback news, Bucs pick up John Wolford, ex-Rams backup and Baker Mayfield might have to fight for the starting position. Kyle Trask might be fighting for the starting position as well and I personally think he has a good chance of getting that spot. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have a fighting chance this season with a fairly good defense and a fighting offense.
