Ferrets have been domesticated animals for 2,500 years and are illegal in some places like California and Hawaii. A Ferret's normal heart rate is 200 to 250 beats per minute which is more than three beats per second and can travel at a speed of fifteen miles per hour. Ferrets are most active at dawn and dusk, and they can dance. Ferrets sometimes participate in Ferrets racing and can bark. It is very unhealthy for Ferrets to eat cat or dog food. A group of Ferrets is called a business and Ferret bites can hurt. Ferrets can live up to 15 years, but the average lifespan is 6 to 10 years.
