I had a very fun time during the D.A.R.E. program. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. In D.A.R.E., we learned how to say no to drugs. Then, we learned the effects of alcohol and tobacco. As one of the last things we did, we did these activities that teach us how to deal with peer pressure and stress. I got to meet and ask questions to a real police officer! At the end of the program, there was this big essay competition meaning the person with the best essay got the rewards the officer told us there was going to be. After enough determination and tough thinking, I won the essay competition! I got all the rewards, and read my essay out loud on the stage inside the parish center. Lastly, when I finished reading the essay, my class got to see a K-9 demonstration. I had a blast during the D.A.R.E. program!
