I went to Washington D.C for my spring break. I went with my mom, my twin sister, Jacey, and my mom’s boyfriend, Kentucky. They picked us up from school on Friday after field day. We flew American Airlines and arrived in D.C. at 5:00 pm. We took an Uber to our hotel, the Willard Intercontinental, and then walked to The Palm for dinner. After that we explored the city for a little while and then drove back to our hotel. In the morning we had breakfast and then went to the grounds of the White House and the Washington Monument. We were cutting it close to the time we had to be at the Air and Space Museum, so we left the monument and walked there. Inside we explored the inside of planes and went to the planetarium. We walked all day seeing the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the World War II Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial and more. In total on Saturday we walked thirteen miles! We then went to dinner at the Hamilton. They next morning we went to the Capital Building and the Washing Monument again. We later went to the Art Gallery and saw some art from the 1300s. On Monday morning it was sadly time to leave. We were almost over the Tampa airport when the captain said there was an engine failure. We changed route to Jacksonville and stayed there for eight hours. The flight that was supposed to bring us back to Tampa kept getting delayed. We ended up just taking a rental car to Tampa and got home at 2:00 am. In all we walked a total of sixteen miles on the trip. I am looking forward to returning one day to see more amazing landmarks.
