Are you thinking about where to go on your summer vacation? Here are my top 4 suggestions. I think the best way to spend your summer break is by visiting Florida's famous landmarks. A few of my favorites are Jekyll Island, St.Augustine, Miami, and the Florida Keys. Jekyll Island is my favorite because of how much history it has. For example, in 1733 General James Oglethorpe named Jekyll Island in honor of Sir Joseph Jekyll, his friend and financier from England. In the late 1800s, Jekyll Island became an exclusive hunting club for families with names like Rockefeller, Morgan, Vanderbilt, Pulitzer, and Baker. The once private retreat is now part of The Jekyll Island Club National Historic Landmark District, one of the largest preservation projects in the southeast. St. Augustine is a great choice because of Fort Castillo de San Marcos. It feels like you have gone back in time when you entered Fort Castillo de San Marcos. Another cool place to visit is Miami. It is one of my favorite Florida locations because of how many things you can do there. One of my favorite things to do in Miami is to walk along the beaches in the morning. The Florida Keys are another one of my favorite places to go because it is my favorite place to fish and you can cruise around on a boat all day.
