The basketball championship game is just starting and the Shamrocks are at a tie 2 to 2 with St. John's. Number 21 has the ball and is running for a shot, she passes and cuts to the hoop. Then she gets the pass and shoots the ball, it rolls around the rim and then goes in. The St.John run to the other side of the court and their 45 makes a 3 pointer with 3 guards. The game is now a tie again and the crowd is cheering louder than ever before. If the Shamrocks don’t win, the whole school is watching, including the two and three year-olds. All of the St. John's fans are there too! Whichever team wins might be able to have a chance in going to Pope Paul VI Catholic Panthers, one of the best basketball schools around because there is a scout. This would be amazing for both teams but, only one can win. Both teams make more shots with some free throws added in their, too. Now it is 82 to 83 St. John's in the lead by one point but, it is only one point of a difference. Yet again, the Shamrocks have the ball! Number 21 is bringing it up the court, she passes to her right and tries to cut to the hoop but she is blocked by the 6 foot 2 girl on the other team and she is only 5 foot 9. The girl passes to her left and then the other girl, number 45, passes to the girl with no guard in the corner and that girl makes a three pointer. Then as before the other team runs like the wind to the other half of the court. Then number 21, in madness, does not let the other team make a single shot. In fact she snatched that ball and with her team ran down the court and shot another 3 pointer the twentieth in the game, it rolls around the rim and went in! The game has only 4 more minutes and lots can still happen. The St. John's players are insanely mad with what just happened to them so they run faster than they have ever before. Then, they shoot and with now 3 minutes left they miss and the Shamrocks take the ball once more and try to make a pass but St. John's takes the ball, tries to make another shot, and again misses but they get the ball back again. They pass to one another. 1 minute left and St. John's keeps trying to make a shot but the Shamrocks are guarding and not trying to take the ball. If they take the ball and try to make a shot then St. John's could get a rebound. They are going to run extremely fast to the other hoop and make a shot even though they are in the lead, they do not want to cut it close. Finally, St. John's tries to make a shot and they miss it! They get the rebound and the buzzer goes off. The Shamrocks win after years of hard work. They win because they have tried so hard.
P.S. St. John's is a real team the Shamrocks/Blessed Sacrament have gone against but, sadly the shamrocks lost against them this year in JV.
