Tom Brady And His Destiny
Tom Brady is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in the history of the National Football League. He was born on August 3, 1977, in San Mateo, California. After attending the University of Michigan, Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2000. Brady, however, wasn’t the starter right away though, quarterback Drew Bledsoe had been the starter for nine seasons. But, when Drew Bledsoe suffered a near fatal injury the New England Patriots made Tom Brady the starter. Tom Brady would later lead the Patriots to a first-round bye of the playoffs after an 11-5 season. Eventually, they were in the AFC championship game against the Raiders where Tom Brady and the Patriots would have lost the game after Tom Brady fumbled and the Raiders recovered the ball. However, here came the “tuck rule” where if a quarterback extends his arms intending to throw a forward pass and fumbles, it is called an incomplete pass. So, when the call was ruled incomplete the Patriots drove down the field eventually setting up a field goal for kicker Adam Vinatieri which he made all though there was a blizzard. The Patriots would go on to win the Super Bowl that year against the Rams with the score being 20-17. Soon the Patriots would go on to win back-to-back Super Bowls in 2004 and 2005. Their success would come to an end when Tom Brady got injured in the beginning of the 2009 season opener against the Chiefs. The Patriots would go on to an 11-5 season without Brady and yet still didn’t make the playoffs. Tom Brady and the Patriots would not go on to another Super Bowl until 2015 against the Seattle Seahawks when Malcom Butler had a game winning interception on the goal line. In 2017, Tom Brady had the most epic super bowl comeback of all time, going into halftime being down 28-3, Tom Brady and the Patriots came back and won the game 34-28 in overtime. The success just kept coming when the Patriots won against the Rams in 2019. Tom Brady was a free agent and would sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady would lead them to win a super bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs. The following season, Tom Brady would lead the Bucs to the divisional round of the playoffs but would lose to the future Lombardi trophy winning LA rams. About a month later, Tom Brady would announce his retirement. Exactly one month after he announced his retirement, he came out on Twitter and said he was returning to football as a Buccaneer. Tom Brady and the Bucs would go on to an 8-9 season and a disappointing first round loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Exactly one year after announcing his retirement, Tom brady officially announced his retirement for good. Tom brady is one of the greatest football players to ever play the game, and yet with 7 Super Bowls he sometimes doesn’t get the amount of respect that he should be given.
