When Hurricane Ian started to move towards Sarasota, in September of 2022, everyone that went to school had to stay out of school for a few weeks.

The hurricane was pretty dangerous because if you went outside there were 160 mph winds and a lot of rain. Hurricane Ian was really bad for about four days and then it got better. When it was safe to go outside, everything was completely trashed. There were leaves everywhere and trees fallen over. Everything took about a month to clean up.

Some people who had houses near the ocean had their homes completely destroyed because of the high winds, or because the water level rose and water entered their house. Hurricane Ian will never be forgotten.
