My favorite band is One Direction because I really like their music. There are five very talented members: Louis, Harry, Zayn and Liam are British, but Niall is Irish. I like their music because I think it is motivating and uplifting. They even made a song called “Olivia” but that is not why I like them. I also like their personalities! They’re funny and crazy. My favorite song is either “What Makes You Beautiful” or “Story Of My Life.” As the fans say they are the “best band ever” because they have fans all over the world.
How they got together is very interesting. They did not know each other before they went on the X-Factor. The five band members each got their starts, separately, by singing on the X-Factor, as teenagers. On the first show they sang separately, none of them got in. But when they were about to leave, the judges called all five of their names. About ten minutes later, Simon Cowell decided to put them all in a group together. And that's how One Direction started.
Sadly after six great years together One Direction decided to split up in 2016. About two years before, Zayn Malik left because he said that he was homesick and just wanted to be a normal nineteen-year-old again. But shortly after that the band broke up, because they wanted to live a normal life. They all started doing their own songs. Louis Tomlinson made two albums and still performs. This July I am going to his concert. I don't know if One Direction will ever get back together, but if they do. I might just go crazy. Even if they don't, One Direction will still be my favorite band!
